Founded in 1880, the Corstorphine Literary and Geographical Society—affectionately known as "The Lit"—is a historic and vibrant community group based in Edinburgh.
We host eight engaging, public evening lectures a year at St Ninian’s Church Hall (Burns Hall), exploring a diverse range of topics from literature and history to travel and geography. Meetings take place at 7:45 PM on the first Monday of the month (running February–May and September–December), regularly attracting crowds of over 100 people. Everyone is welcome to attend, with entry priced at just £4 at the door per talk, or £20 for an annual membership which covers the entire seasonal programme.
